RhoadsScholar Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 My son and I drove down to St. Louis in May to see Chuck Berry Live back in May, 2013. Have to cut him some slack. I think he is 87. I hope I am still around at 87 and playing the guitar. Captured a video below of the show. Last week, I took out my trusty H-170 HRW loaded gold-top and paid tribute to a living legend. Rock on Chuck One of these days, I have to get some of my HOC brothers to come join the jam, Thursday night's at Mr. Bigs in Waterford hosted by Billy Farris. Bring your heritage(s) and join the party.
chico Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Chuck is the real deal. Enjoyed your clip. There is a jammer friend here in Madison who has all the licks of Mr Berry, we like to do Nadine. Someday i may take you up on your offer to join the party. I take it Waterford is in Mi
chico Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 It's a very good sign when someone in the crowd yells "turn it up!" Very good sign
bolero Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 wow I had no idea Chuck was still around...what a chance to see a Legend...good on him I know he is famous for just showing up with a backing band & launching into songs, in whatever key & the backing band having to figure it out on the fly...but I've never seen him change key 3 times during a single lick before just joking..Chuck can do no wrong IMO although I'm glad Keef set up that session with a strong backing band Rhoads I really enjoying your "oh carol" great job!!
bolero Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 here is some good live vintage Chuck...back when he was only about 45 years old
