Dick Seacup Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Hey, Gitfiddler, I already said (was it this thread? one of the other HRW threads?) that I love the HRWs in the Millenium DC. I'm anxious to find out how they transform the 137D, but I haven't had a chance yet to heat up the iron to do the swap (yeah, it's been, what, two months?). I think they sound great.
Gitfiddler Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Yep...Seems we go round and around on the mystery of HRW's....then around again. Guess that's just our guitar player's pretzel logic in action. Hey, maybe Rendall Wahl will get a PC and post here some day...
tulk1 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Guys, I am confused (often!). Are you questioning if the HRW p'ups are an original design or simply a modified Schaller knock-off?? Rendall Wahl has been a prolific designer of all things guitar, as well as being awarded patents over the years. Maybe he has done what the likes of Seymour Duncan, Kent Armstrong and many others...come up with a great sounding pickup...by improving on good old Seth Lover's original idea. Whatever he has done, why not give him his due? Don't think any one was discounting what he has done with the pups. In fact, I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get them in my 535. :'( If I wasn't going for a 575, I'd seriously think about having the 535 retrofitted.
