hinesarchtop Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I wanted to share a pic of the Super Eagle that I received a few days ago. After a good cleaning, set up, and fresh set of thomastiks she's flying high.
Keith7940236 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Wow, that is a beauty, congratulation. I bet she's a dream to play!
Steiner Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 You gotta love a big box blonde! Beautiful!!! Happy NGD.
yoslate Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 It is a beauty! They are nearly overwhelming instruments. Congrats, hines'.
hinesarchtop Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Thanks everyone. It's actually finished in VSB which may be easier to notice in this pic. The flash makes the bursted part of the finish disappear.
2bornot2bop Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Gorgeous and rare finish too! Reminds me of the Heritage Amber finish. I'm Amber with envy! Mega Congrats!!!!!! How long had you been wanting a SE? Nice to know there are a few of us big box lovers here on the HOC!
111518 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Beautiful. I acquired a Super 400CESN when I was 18 or 19, and it was one of the very few guitars that I held on to during the years I wasn't playing. I sold it when I got back into playing to raise money to re-equip myself for gigging, but, I still miss it. Even though an 18" guitar is just too big for me, there is something iconic about an archtop of that size. Congrats.
bolero Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Hines, that is absolutely stunning!!! what pups are in there? happy new guitar day.....nice snatch
Ned Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 pretty bird. pretty bird. I can only imagine the sound....
hinesarchtop Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Gorgeous and rare finish too! Reminds me of the Heritage Amber finish. I'm Amber with envy! Mega Congrats!!!!!! How long had you been wanting a SE? Nice to know there are a few of us big box lovers here on the HOC! Thanks. This is my 4th Super. I've had two tap tuned versions with floaters, and this is my second one with two mounted pups. This one has been played quite a bit and has it's scars but it has a great vibe. I would have found one sooner if you and Marc wouldn't have been looking too. You guys were killing me! Haha.
hinesarchtop Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Hines, that is absolutely stunning!!! what pups are in there? happy new guitar day.....nice snatch Thanks Chris, it has a pair Seth Lovers in it. I've been plugging it into my early Budda 410 Verbmaster and getting an amazing Kenny Burrell tone. The bridge pup works good too....I'd play a blues gig on the guitar and love it.
H Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Very nice Are you going to entertain us to a clip or three?
DavesNotHere Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Beautiful! Heritage sure knows how to do a VSB
schundog Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Congratulations! What a beautiful instrument. I hope it brings you a lifetime of enjoyment.
houndhome Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I love the finish, that VSB is so subtle.Makes my blonde Super look bland.
rockabilly69 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 That looks a guitar that would be fun to play, and a beautiful sunburst ta boot!
