I've been eyeing those for a while, the newer version, though.

None available locally to try, but on the web, the D-Style overdrive channel sounds great.

Is the clean sound very Fenderish, which is what I'm after, or more British sounding?

To my ear, it is more British than Fender sounding, but not overly chimey. Kind of a mix between them, leaning more on British. Which is interesting, since it has 6V6s. They advertise that it somewhere between Marshall and Trainwreck, but that is a large spectrum and mostly hype. It definitely is the best sounding amp I have owned, it sounds better than my Carvin (which is very similar to a Fender sound when clean). I'm no expert though - I have owned a lot more guitars than amps over the years so don't have a broad baseline.
