skydog52 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 did you guys with the 357s find that a Gibson firebird case worked? Epiphone cases fit like a glove. $89 Sweetwater
tulk1 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 I believe TKL makes the Heritage hardshell cases....as well as the Gibson's Unless they've recently changed, which is a possibility, it used to be G&G cases for Gibson and Fender. The Heritage cases have been from multiple vendors over the years. The best seeming to have come from TKL.
H Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 My 2004 Hummingbird has a Gibson-branded TKL case and my 1990 Chet Atkins did too.

111518 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Yup. I think TKL has been providing many of Gibson's cases for a number of years. Those brown cases with the padded handles from the late 80s and 90s with the logo Gibson USA are TKL's. It's on the leather tab on the cover of the inside accessory case. ...just out of curiosity, I checked my Gruhn's Guide, but I can't find any listings about cases. Seems odd, since having the original case is certainly a selling point for vintage guitars, although, I guess it is always in part a matter of faith --no DNA tests that I know about for the original contents of a particular case, or the particular case for a guitar.
HANGAR18 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Hang the new purchase on the wall? Now who would do that, really! On my way to PSP this year I was fortunate enough to stop a three HOC members homes. All three had guitars hanging on their walls. I've got 3 Hercules stands mounted on the wall and the rest of them stand on the floor. The room you see here (in the attached photos) is where I keep the VOX AC15 amp so everything is easily accessible.
DavesNotHere Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Epiphone cases fit like a glove. $89 Sweetwater +1 Most of the online retailers have them for that price with free shipping. However, I wouldn't recommend them for a working musician. For a hobbyist, they are perfect. The Gibson branded ones also fit and seem to be a bit more rugged, but they are more than twice the price of the Epis.
