Just the question--would H take a special order for an acoustic? There are lots of flat tops out there & I've been looking, but it would be SOOOOOOOO Awesome to have one w/ an H on the headstock!

Nope, not anymore. Just like no more banjos and no more mandolins.

But hey, you could always call and beg.... but the answer will be "no".

Heck, I tried to order an H555 with either a spalted maple or koa top, and Marv said "no!" Good luck trying to get an out-of-production model made!

I'll do it but it'll look like an amp... ;)

You can order an archtop with no pickups and just f holes...

This is how I was introduced to The Heritage. I wanted an arch top acoustic and I considered replacing the finger rest on an Eagle as a very good option. The project that required the guitar fell apart before I could save the cash, but I've kept the guitar that I bought as a placeholder - an early 60's Eko and not really comparable. But, my experience with the Eko, a cheap, bolt on neck, plywood top and 2 1/2 rim, leads me to believe that the Eagle would add a lot to a mix. In the context of ensemble, I think the contrasting voice (kind of alto/tenor) can alternatively project above or blend with flat tops. And you're never wrong buying another Heritage when you can. My $0.02.

I would seriously consider an acoustic archtop. No electronics would save you a bundle. You could even go with a Super Eagle. That would be nice and sound great.
