No problems here.. I like the 170. The DC horns look great and I think that axe you posted is ALL GOLD like an H150 I have seen someplace. Its weight relieved as well which is a nice touch.

Unfortunately no GAS from this side if the pond for that.  :'(

I'd have preferred an SG... Or if it had to be a re issue then a Firebird... Oh... I already have one... :afro:

No big problem with it though, just a little uninspiring. At least it's not that awful aborted lovechild of the SG andFlying V with the ghastly paint job from Gibbon... ;D

i want your 357...hand it over!!! ;D

You can have it when I'm done with it... :P

Unfortunately I play it every day and by the time I'm through the neck will be worn to the size of a matchstick... ;D

P-Rails sound good too... Soldering was a complete nightmare and having to take my router to the body was kinda scary but the end results entirely justify the effort.

Thanks again for helping me get the P-Rails :-*

I would rather see a DC Jr.  In old style burst.  twin lollars.

Now THAT would get me excited.

I don't think it's so much apathy for the 170, then it is most of us already knew they were going to re release the 170.

Now the 335 with dog ear Lollar p-90s, that's something new!

And I think I know who is going to get the first one ever made???

I like it!  Personally, I'd probably go custom and have it made as an "H-177", with ebony board, blocks, Black Beauty finish and details, and no damned weight relief.

I have to say I'm surprised that Heritage hasn't done more promo on the 110, since that would potentially expand their reach into the PRS market.  Do one of those up like a Black Beauty (H-117?), and I'm figuring out which possessions to jettison...

Needs an ebony board. Other than that, I like it. Given the number of H-170s that seem to trade hands on feePay, craigslist and TGP, I would think it's an in-demand model.

Throughout the day and the billion times I've read this thread, I'm starting to like it. Grrrr!! Just one more to add to the list. Unfortunately, like our Mr. Henderson, I'll never actually own a copy of every model ever made by the 'zoo. I'd still prefer the softer horns, tho'.  >:D

Wow,  I can tell you that I am the NEW OWNER OF THIS FIRST GUITAR.  I had the opportunity to meet Marv Lamb and he personally toured the heritage factory with me on a Wed because I was late.  He showed me the new 110.  I made a comment that I liked the 170 and he told me they were re-introducing the 170 in a chambered model.  I asked him who was buying the 1st one.  I told him I wanted it and wanted it in all GOLD.  I then called back and talked to vince. TOld him to add the heritage pickups. Talked to Marv during the construction.  He indicated he did all the neck work/manufacturing on this.

For me, this is awsome.  Marv Lamb has probably made 80% of all the les pauls we see for 500,000 on up. I got to get the 1st model of what I would consider to be the much improved 170, chambered, with neck binding.  All gold by my request.  I met vince and the other owners that were there.  this was two days before the the Heritage Club friday event.  I have pictures at www.onplane.net of my visit with Marv. Vince is a great guy and I can't wait to pick this thing up.  I am happy to get the 1st production model in the color I requested knowing it was one of the last guitars built by Marv Lamb.  What a dream come true for me and I am glad this got posted. I am on business travel and will be picking it up soon.

Beautiful guitar dude... you're not planning on playing that thing are you? Being a one-off first production hand-made by Marv would make it quite collectable I'd suspect. Not to mention the special attention it received with the Ren photo shoot. Whatever you do, enjoy the hell out of it... I love the matching gold headstock. Shweet.

Hang around here a while and join in, we're a friendly bunch.

One word of warning... You are however duty bound to add copious pics to the photobucket site. :police:

I just talked to Bob.  He and his son are about 5 minutes away from the factory, and they have 2 digital cameras with charged batteries and empty memory cards >:D.  They are as giddy as kids on Christmas Day!  :)

It couldn't happen to a better guy, and it's great timing.

What a terrific story!!!  I have a difficult time envisioning anything remotely like it occurring in Nashville!  That is a "significant" guitar in the mythology!  Congrats, Bob!

Today was a special day for my son and I.  We had both took off work (Thursday, Sept. 18th) as it was my late wife Julie's birthday, who passed away last November of breast cancer.  We knew it would be a somber day and we planned on spending it together.  I was away on business travel earlier in the week when BRENTROCKS started this post. That is when I saw the "all gold" 170 that I had ordered a while back.  I spoke to Marv Lamb and Vince several times along the way. Marv indicated that Heritage wanted to get it done sooner than later as this was going to be the 1st production model of this guitar.

It was a 3 hour trek each way for my son and I.  The trip gave us a lot of opportunity for conversation. I described going to the Heritage Guitar factory as a Willy Wonka experience for guitar geeks.  We were there to pick up our golden ticket. My son just got a new digital camera and  took phenomenal stills and video. Rendal Wall was kind enough to give us to tour and take lots of pictures and video. Rendal commented how well this guitar turned out with the HRW pickups.  I got some great video of Rendal playing the guitar, then I got to take it for a spin.  I will be posting these later in the week.

The experience allowed me to pick up a very special guitar on a very special day.  Thanks BRENTROCKS for starting this post, and thanks to all the wonderful craftsman at Heritage for building guitars that make dreams come true.  I'll be posting pictures later.
