I wanted to wanted to experiment with a couple mics & amps today...an sm57 close mic & CAD E100 about 3 feet away

threw a drum track in garageband & this song popped out...I don't think I have the changes right, I forgot how it goes!!

rhythm is the H157 thru the Supro 1624

lead is the 357 w/P90's thru the GA8

bass is my '87 G&L SB-1 into an old tube 1x15 Garnet bass amp

I resisted the urge to throw reverb etc on the lead part, I wanted to keep it dry

Excellent guitar work! You need a new drummer :)

I love the distorted sound you're getting - reminds me of early Neil Young.

Tell Santa you want a couple of nitro-friendly guitar stands this year.

ha! that is one of Steiner's handmade wooden neck supports!

I think i will try just using the close mic.....in that recording I panned each left/right a bit. and listening today, it sounds sloppy!! I think i will redo

could only do one pass, as it was 2am and I didn't want my neighbours to kill me!! so there's lots of mistakes..warts & all

that little supro is loud when you crank it....it has a great sound though

I am beginning to crave a really good analog preamp...the overall sound is crappy compared to the real thing...maybe it's the digital drum sound

for the solo I plugged the 357 into a little marshall SS combo so I could record at a lower volume. it's edgier so stands out well against the juicy fat supro

real learning experience, trying to record stuff on your own
