Hfan Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I went through a phase where I really wasn't playing my Heritages. Just Teles and Strats mostly. Recently broke out and restrung my 157 and 535. I was actually considering selling the 157 but I think not. Man, I forget how great these guitars are. We are lucky to have them. The 535 with Antiquities just has this voice, I'm not eloquent enough to describe. The 157, all 10lbs of her is powerful. It has Schallers and I like the kind of clean tone of them, kind of like a single coil vibe. I find the roller bridge great for palm muting, sounds great and no sharp edges. It was played a lot by someone, buckle rash, beat up case, great CL find. Super low buzz free action.
JeffB Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Ive been in the same boat for a while. I love my Heritage, no two ways about it, it just hasnt been the sound I want to hear. Recently played and worked on a few R8's and R9's and started feeling like I might want to revisit my H150. The pots in my H150 have been a bit "dicky" for a while. I think that may have been a source of frustration. Once Ive finished a Hamer Ive been working on Im going to get back in contact with my H150 and swap out the hardware and electrics and spend some more time with it. Feel like I want to put a bigsby on it!!.
heritagefan7 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Rediscovery of guitars is for me like winning the lottery w/o having to buy a ticket!
Fernando Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Good for you, Pete. It is a great feeling to rediscover a guitar. What songs have you been playing?

Same for me - been playing my single coils for a long time and recently broke out the 150 and I just love the fatness and power of it. Will never give up that guitar.

Not the not playing it part, because I am still in the honeymoon phase after several months. The Antiquities in a 535 part! The two were meant to be together! It's hard to describe the massive but gorgeous tone you get.
Hfan Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 Good for you, Pete. It is a great feeling to rediscover a guitar. What songs have you been playing? Oh, bits and pieces of this and that but mostly just riffing and making up stuff.
tsp17 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Rediscovery of guitars is for me like winning the lottery w/o having to buy a ticket! +1. That is a good day.
cobrafast1 Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I try to play a different guitar every day. Never play the same guitar two days in a row and I try to cycle through them using a different one every day. It makes me play better that way too by experimenting songs and sounds. But I have to admit.... I do like the day that may Heritage H-150 comes up in the rotation.
fxdx99 Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Round and round she goes. Nice to have choices. Re-acquainting with guitars is always fun.
Guest HRB853370 Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Been playing Strats now for over a month. Gotta get back to my Heritages. Broke out the GT 150 w/Lollar P-90's yesterday, and having some reacquaintanceship!
