tsp17 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Amp! You may recall Winnie, the rescue puppy i brought home for my wife and daughter about 3-4 months ago. Well he is teething now and my JazzKat TwinKat was the latest collateral damage. This amp has been a real workhorse and has its share of evidence that it has been gigged and in and out of the car many many times, so i guess if he was going to pick one to gnaw on, this was the best one. I recently bought some liquid black electrical tape to so some touch up anyway. He is a great dog.
JeffB Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 soldering iron. Lightly touch and melt the tear back together. Find a test piece first.
Gitfiddler Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Chew toys are on sale at Petco. Don't wait for Christmas. Sorry about the amp. Hopefully you'll be able to get it back in shape.
schundog Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 soldering iron. Lightly touch and melt the tear back together. Find a test piece first. Jeff, I don't know how you do things in YOUR country, but we do NOT take a soldering iron to our puppies! Oh, wait, that's not what you meant....
Blunote Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 That looks a lot like the Bichon Frise rescue my mother was given 12 years ago. He's been a fantastic companion to her and probably accounts for hers still being with us. If yours is anything like hers, it'll be a great pet.
HANGAR18 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I used some gorilla tape on one of my Marshall cabinets where the vinyl peeled up a little bit in a couple of spots. Worked nicely.
tsp17 Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 Thanks for the tips. This amp has plenty of dings so maybe I'll try different methods in different spots and see what works best. We are not sure what kind of dog he is. Seems to have some poodle in there somewhere. Some folks have said maybe some golden retriever and bichon. My wife really adores him. I like him just fine too. He is also good companion for our other dog (my best friend).
Blunote Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 He looks bichon to me. They're basically bred to be companions. Happy, enthusiastic, good with kids and old folks. I don't think he'll retrieve any ducks or geese for you though.

Loves to play fetch. he's got a long athletic body (size relative) and is very agile. I was walking him one day and saw a dog that looked just like him only bigger. Asked the owner what breed and she said Golden-doodle, he's got poodle like hair, so maybe... who knows.
smokedtires Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Looks like you caught him before he got too far. That is always a worry of mine. We got a puppy about 3 months ago and I had all my guitars hung on the wall away from his teeth with the 1st week. I just got a new amp and have a cover ordered to try and protect it from the dog and 3 cats.
