Has anyone bought a guitar from Guitar Adoptions?

GuitarAdoptions.com--their prices are about the best I've seen for new Heritages, though they have a rather paltry selection.

Yes....  I've purchased several guitars from Dave!  He's about the nicest guy you'll ever want to meet.  I've been buying guitars from him since 2003.

 

Give him a call for a hands-on inspection of any guitar you see on his site.  Tell him Chuck from Jersey says Hi!

I had been eyeballing that Red 150 he's had on his site for a while. Just picked up a nice used H-150CM in SSB, so I'm not looking anymore (well, actually I do still like to look).

I bought a H-150CM from Dave but won't do business with him again. The guitar arrived with a non-functioning pickup switch. When I contacted Dave about getting it fixed, he acted like he was doing me a favor giving me Heritage's phone number. Heritage would never answer the phone and never returned a message. He told me he wouldn't have any more success getting through than me. I asked him, why wouldn't I just buy on Ebay?

That's such a simple repair--why wouldn't a dealer just fix the switch?

I offered to get it fixed locally for a prudent amount. I just didn't feel like I should pay for it.

You could buy a new switch and install it yourself--much quicker than sending the guitar back and forth.

I understand that. I didn't feel like I should have to on a brand new guitar. You asked if anyone had done business with him and how did it go. I told you how it went for me.

I actually printed his prices and used them to negotiate when I bought.  So it helped.
