t0aj15 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Dude you have entirely TO MUCH time on your hands.
big bob Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 Send it back I wish I could remember where I got this one!
tonedeaf Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I wish I could remember where I got this one! Home Depot. They got every size you need. (I don't think they warranty them against breakage though.)
peterbright Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Break one more string and you'll have a bass
H Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Well the. String was not long enough to solder back together. What I ended up doing was using the longer end and soldering it directly to one of the screw heads on the pickup. I'm not sure I like how it sounds, it kinda just makes a thumping sound, but I'm gonna give it some time, maybe I'll get use to it! Of course it sounds thumpy, you haven't completed the circuit! Any idiot knows that the SHORT side of the string has to be soldered to the adjacent pickup slug! I saw it on Sesame Street once.

JohnCovach Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 If you replace the strings, avoid those sets that use six different sized strings. Instead, buy six low E strings and use those to string the guitar. They are the thickest and least likely to break. (This is a joke; nobody should ever do this!)

TalismanRich Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 There's a simple solution if you have too short of a string....
tbonesullivan Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I think the Low E has lower tension than the A and D strings usually....
