VTGoose Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Hello. I have a gold top h150 with lollar p90's. I am considering putting a pickguard on it. Can I get one direct from heritage? Or is there an aftermarket supplier? My understanding is that an LP pickguard won't fit quite right. Any help would be great. Thanks all
HANGAR18 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Might be easier to see if someone in the For Sale/Trade section is selling one than tyring to get one from Heritage.
HANGAR18 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Some people in the club even make them themselves by tracing the shape of an existing one onto a suitable piece of plastic or wood.

Just my opinion, but I like the look of a GT (both Gibby and Heritage) in all its beauty without the PG. Mine came without one otherwise I would be offering it to you.
golferwave Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 A Gibson Vintage Spec 1956 reissue pickguard will fit perfectly if you choose to go with a guard. They're available at GC or on ebay.
golferwave Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Sorry, they're called "Historic Spec" not Vintage Spec.
VTGoose Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 Thanks all. And don't disagree on the sans pickguard look. I am still undecided
rockabilly69 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I like the Heritage pickguard shape so I would custom make one, by tracing a Heritage one without the pickup cutouts onto some pickguard material and then cut the p90 cutotouts into it.
davesultra Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I can always trace the pickguard on my P-90 equipped 150 and send the tracing along to you if you'd like. But be warned, mine is not a Goldtop.
DetroitBlues Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Just to add my .02, I'd say put a Gibby PG in there. I'm not a fan of Heritage's design on the plastic guards.
