kidsmoke Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Long time coming. PunkKitty gave me dibs on this the day she bought, and as many of you know, she's true to her word. This was Brent's at one time, not sure if others here in the HOC have had their go with it or not. Solid 2012 H-150CM VSB, baseball bat neck, one piece back, locking Grovers, Tonepros, ABR, Fralin Handwound Humbuckers (not the "pure PAF", which he differentiates from his normal HBs by aging the magnets) I love the neck on this. I'm definitely in the honeymoon phase on this, so not entirely objective, but this is possibly the easiest guitar to play that I own. I think it's the meat on the neck. We'll see. Love the body, and don't find the 9.4# at all cumbersome. Here it is in all it's sunlit glory.
PunkKitty Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Seeing it in that sunlight makes me wish that I had kept it. But I'm looking for something lighter than 9.4 pounds. I love the neck on that one. How are you enjoying the Fralins?
Yooper Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Nice as can be. Is that a "G" brand truss rod cover?
DetroitBlues Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Nice snatch Kip. Love beefy necks myself.... Congrats...
Guest HRB853370 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Very nice and no, I never slept with her before you got hold of her!

PunkKitty Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 How about a 10.6 lb 150 in VWB? Chunk neck too! I'm thinking 7.x pound 150LW with a chunky neck.
koula901 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Lordy Lordy! What a beaut! and as other erudite writers in this forum have said: nice snatch!
skydog52 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 The sun always brings out the best in those Vintage Sun Bursts! Congratulations on another successful HOC transaction.
PrairieDude Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 That really is a great color for these guitars!! Very nice. Congrats.
schundog Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Most Excellent! Congratulations, Kip, I look forward to hearing you tear it up! My drummer buddy Duane said he thought you should front a band as guitarist and singer. I agreed. This baby would make a nice companion for that.
heritagefan7 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Yep--that's beautiful...and it has a great reputation! You don't get any better than that.
