heritagefan7 Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I know that someone-probably lots of folks, will know about the SAE Custom. Could someone please enlighten me? I'm not thinking of the Millie, but of the custom. I believe that Heritage came out with something similar, new for 2013. Anybody know the specs for this model? I know that it's a semi...I guessing a rosewood board. Is the body laminate maple? what's the rim depth? could you get an ebony board? Did it come with a PG? Was the Piezo standard? What were the pups? Etc..... I saw this pic in the gallery....I can't find this on the Heritage page.
Billgelder Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Look in "Catalog of Discontinued Heritage Models" Fredzep #7 and #8
HANGAR18 Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I considered buying one of these recently but wasn't able to get too much in the way of specs.
Redsand Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Holy Sh*t!!! This is the first time that I've ever seen or even heard of an SAE Custom? I absolute love it, not a ton of red Heritages around either, looks like I've got some research to do. Go figure, right when I had convinced myself that (2) Heritage guitars in the stable was enough I discover a Heritage Chupacabra.
big bob Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I had one for a day, the seller forgot to disclose a headstock repair. The body is constructed like a first gen 140. The body is made of poplar with a maple cap. The f holes or should I say the body is solid the f holes are just barely carved out, ie the hollow box behind the f holes is only 2 or so inches wide, then it is painted black. They are nice sounding and feeling but really just a spin on the 140.

(rim measurement) I think they have a very "cowboy" look to them, kinda like a dreadnought shape with a pointy cutaway.

heritagefan7 Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Oh wow---I thought they were a true semi...totally unaware it was really more of a solid body.
