Keith7940236 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Here are a few photos of the Eagle Classic that I recently purchased. It arrived with a faulty Gibson style tailpiece and had to be sent back to the factory. The tailpiece that it on it now came from a local luthier named Steve Holst that is local in Oregon. Steve's work is top notch, (he's building a laminated archtop for me right now) and very reasonably priced. I just got it back from my luthier after fret polishing and leveling and it really sounds and plays nice. If anyone's interested in one of these tailpieces, PM me and I can give you contact information.
yoslate Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Very, very handsome piece! Perfect argument for the bound headstock.
Gitfiddler Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Beautiful!!!!!!!! Nice tight grained Spruce! Play it in good health.
MartyGrass Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I can't see the back, dammit! I like the rest. How's it sound?
pegleg32 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 that is about as clean and classic as any guitar I've seen. Really nice.

A certain family resemblance to my Eagle one-off (though yours is dark-stained Maple, mine Mahogany back). One of my projects for next year is to get a pickguard made for mine.
Keith7940236 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks for the kind words, I failed to mention that it really has a nice, focused sound. It's by far nicer sounding than the previous Eagles that I owned. I'm expecting it to warm up a little as time goes by. The pickup is a Heritage #3. I've played the #1 and #2, and this is the best that they have come out with. It's not quite as refined as the KA handwound that was in it, but it is nice warm and clean.
schundog Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Fantastic!. I, too, am a fan of the tailpiece. Congratulations, I hope she was worth the wait!
Ned Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 That's about the best looking guitar I have ever seen. Play her in good health.

barrymclark Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 That is just stunning. I absolutely love it. Black back and sides?
jimsoloway Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I hear all sorts of great things about Steve Holst and the guitar looks great with that tail piece. Something else to tuck into the back of my brain for a future project.
