bolero Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 had a friend over the other day, ( he is playing here, it sounds much better than my generic crap ) & I stuck a mic in front this is my '93 H150 loaded with JS Moore humbuckers https://soundcloud.com/roofleaks/jsmoore-h150 I'll keep the amp a mystery for now....but it's direct in, no pedals, reverb is from the amp. I'm liking this mic, it's a CAD E100
Redsand Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 My guess would be a semi-vintage 1x12 Fender combo? The guitar and the mic are sounding good, what's your mic placement on this? 2ft-4ft-6ft-room?
bolero Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 I just stuck the mic about 4" in front of the speaker, pretty much dead center I am surprised how well it turned out, as I have been doing multi mic experiments to try & get a room sound blended with a close mic!!
smurph1 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Nice Bluesy tone!! I like it!! Thanks for sharing Sounds like a billy gibbons tone!!
bolero Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 well apparently BillyG used one of those amps....it's an '80's Marshall Lead 1x10 combo. I changed the speaker out though
gpuma Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 well apparently BillyG used one of those amps....it's an '80's Marshall Lead 1x10 combo. I changed the speaker out though I have one of those, needs some maintenance though. It is my 18th birthday present from my brother. Marshall made few really good SS amps in the 80s. I have another one that is quite impressive and that is the mosfet 100 reverb twin. it is a 2X12 combo heavy as hell but Marshall's aficionados swear by them. This also needs work though. The funny thing about these amps is how little you pay for them if you find them.
