Kuz Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 1963 Deluxe, after a tune-up from the "Amp Whisperer", it will be under the tree.... Last amp ever.....
Guest HRB853370 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Wow, super Kuz! But the last amp ever part, nahhh, no way. Don't let it fall in the pool!
Billgelder Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Very nice Deluxe What tubes are in it, and whats the wattage?
Hfan Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Schweet Kuz. Looks clean. Congrats. I see your pool is still open..having a heat wave?
Vanschoyck Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Really nice. I hope you're going to tell us how it sounds. Maybe a sound clip?
Kuz Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 The amp is about 18 W. It should have more compression and more sag, more like a martshal type tone. No that's not my pool, I don't have a pool. Those are pics from the seller who lives in Louisiana. So after Mike's done giving it the once over it will be coming to Ohio. I will give a full tone report then. I did not go out looking for this amp it's more like it found me. The deal was so good I couldn't pass it up.
schundog Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 What, no PCB?! Just kidding, buddy. Congratulations; you have the ultimate Vintage Fender Amp Collection (except for that glaring omission of a Tweed... better not say "last ever" just yet!) haha. Merry Christmas from freezing cold Central Illinois.
Blunote Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 "Last ever" is probably what he promised Mrs, Kuz when he emptied the piggy bank.

Merry Christmas from freezing cold Central Illinois. Well, if four vintage Fenders is collection (yea, maybe your right), I would say my modest collection is nothing compared to some other HOC members (Slider313, Steiner, Plexirocker, ect). But do feel very lucky and grateful to have them. About the Tweed obmission.... Yea, that has me worried about my "last amp forever" statement. But for now the brownface Deluxe will have to do, and it gives me the option to just crank it to breakup (which I never really do) or use an OD pedal (my preffered method of amp OD).
Kuz Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 "Last ever" is probably what he promised Mrs, Kuz when he emptied the piggy bank. Oh the Mrs. doesn't know yet. Why not just let that be a surprise in 30 days when the credit card statement comes in??!!!!!
Blunote Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Oh the Mrs. doesn't know yet. Why not just let that be a surprise in 30 days when the credit card statement comes in??!!!!! Ok, Depending on her reaction, she could be up for the 'HOC Spouse of the year' award. Mrs Brentrocks has so far been the hands-down winner in previous years, but you're recent purchasing history puts her into the running by default.

big bob Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Never say "last one". You never know what fate might bring tomorrow.
Kuz Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 I will give you a full run down of my OD pedals tomorrow, promise. But the patient Mrs., wants Santa to come help wrap the gifts!!! 1) Ethos OD 2) Rat (white rat) Kalamazoo RI distortion 3) BB Preamp OD 4) TC Elctronics Vintage Distortion (OD to Distortion) 5) Fulltone Full-Drive 2 OD 6) Vintage Ibanez TC9 Tube Screamer 7) T-Rex Moller OD 1-5 are on the board now. In addition on the board, are my Peterson Stomp 2 tuner, Strymon El Capistan delay, Tortuga Neptune dual Vibe, and Keeley RC Booster. Plus I run the effect pedals through their own individual looper so all the pedals are true bypass.
rockabilly69 Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Nice score on the amp John. You're on a roll!
Kuz Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 I feel a little ( well, just a little guilty) for the number of purchases lately. But I have sold a number of amps and guitars over the past year too. 2014 will be a lean year in terms of new purchases. - I currently have no GAS, the amp collection is all I have ever hoped for, so for 2014 I am going to concentrate on...... Pickups!!! - I want two sets of Throbak P90s, and have a Thornton Elite that could use a set of Throbak SLE 101s with 4 conductor wire so they can be split. The good news for others is I will have about 5 or 6 great sets of pickups to sell at reasonable costs! - I just bought the OnSong IPad app to start digitally organizing my chord charts and songs. - I also want to do more writing and recording this year
