Cryoman Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Here she is. Just as nice as I hoped although not a perfect match for the gold/amber knobs. Turns out I can make 3 pickguards from the sheet of material (10 x 16") I purchased (I've completed 2 so far...) I'm so happy with the results that I'm going to give pickquard No. 2 to the 1st, make it 3rd, no make it the 7th (137, get it?) person who sends me an e-mail stating they want it... (PS. you also have to own an H-137). I'll pack it and mail it to you for free, I'll even throw in the set of screws... I can either leave it undrilled or you can tell me how/where you'd like it drilled for mounting screws. Thanks for all the nice comments 1st time through. Cheers, Cryoman cryoman@comcast.net http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd302/cryoman_bucket/PickguardH-137008.jpg[/img] http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd302/cryoman_bucket/PickguardH-137007.jpg[/img] http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd302/cryoman_bucket/PickguardH-137006.jpg[/img] http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd302/cryoman_bucket/PickguardH-137005.jpg[/img] http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd302/cryoman_bucket/PickguardH-137004.jpg[/img]
golferwave Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Very nice work! I'm still looking for the right H-137 and when I get one I'll contact you. Will you have other colors for the darker finishes?
Cryoman Posted November 3, 2007 Author Posted November 3, 2007 Hey Golferwave, I did this only because I needed a single pickguard for my H-137. I'd make one for your future H-137 in the darker material you want for free (labor) if you'd pay for the raw materials and postage. Send me a note when you are ready. I'd be happy to punch a few out for others since the hardwork is done (design, template, etc). Cheers, Cryoman
AnH555 Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Looks very professional. I can also imagine it in ruby on a red 137. Any thoughts on a matching truss rod cover?
Dick Seacup Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Wow, that came out looking exceptionally cool! I'd try for the 2nd guard giveaway, but my 137 has buckers not soap bars! ;D I still think that should be the factory design; heckuva looker!
Cryoman Posted November 4, 2007 Author Posted November 4, 2007 AnH555, Great idea. I went back to garage about an hour later... Matching truss-rod cover done... Made a small bobble in it so, I'll build another one tomorrow. I can see that ruby-red on the red H-137, too. Or maybe the black-pearl on the limed TVs with the black speed knobs... Cheers. Cryoman PS. I now have TWO pickguards (#1 and #3, I'm keeping #2). Both are free to the 1st and 3rd persons who want them and send me an e-mail (probably aren't 7 people TOTAL who could use one... ) I'll try to bang out two more matching truss-rod covers tomorrow, you can then have a set.
yoslate Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Fabulous job on the color, Cryoman! Exceptionally nice "figure" in that slab of Mother of Toilet Seat! A very "modern" looking 137! Well done!
Gitfiddler Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Very nice design! Try some black 'witch hat' knobs on that baby to match the black soap bars. See if you like that. Nice!
Heritage525 Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Great job on the guard! Can you make a black one for me if I pay for the materials? Serious enquiry here!!
Cryoman Posted November 4, 2007 Author Posted November 4, 2007 Heritage525, Yes I will. Please send me an e-mail. Here are a couple more shots... Cheers, Cryoman http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd302/cryoman_bucket/PickguardTRC007.jpg[/img] http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd302/cryoman_bucket/PickguardTRC005.jpg[/img]
AnH555 Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Beautifully done, right down to the screw locations. Wouldn't look right if it wasn't done right. You nailed it, Croyman!
