nitroman58 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Could any one recommend a specific model or dealer for a 335 style guitar? I like the 60's style neck and want something voiced for blues.
Redsand Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Welcome to party nitroman58, You could consider this Kalamazoo beauty at $1900, http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/25337-fs-2009-h-535-oldstyle-burst-fully-bound-in-excellent-condition/ or you could spend $3000 or more for the Nashville brands mass produced 335.
nitroman58 Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 Nice guitar, but I am left handed.
brentrocks Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 IF you can find a lefty 535...you will expect to pay $1400 and up, for a nice one
koula901 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 IF you can find a lefty 535...you will expect to pay $1400 and up, for a nice one This. $1400 is what I had in mind. You could check out Jerry's Lefty Guitars, in Florida. He has a website and Facebook page.
big bob Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 For just a smidge more you could have the uber lefty heritage... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-Heritage-American-Eagle-LEFT-HANDED-Archtop-Guitar-with-Case-/281234808015?pt=Guitar&hash=item417ae69ccf
nitroman58 Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 That is not a "smidge" more! That dealer in Baltimore has quite a few unusual guitars. I really want something voiced for blues not jazz.
koula901 Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Just look in craigs list, and google lefty 335, check ebay - they do turn up from time to time. I found a wonderful one on the bay a few years ago for $1400.
HANGAR18 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Heritage H535's (similar to a Gibson 335) are more expensive than H150's*, and many H150's sold on the used market go for the $1500.00 ballpark. I therefore conclude that any normal H535 should sell for above $1500.00 by two or three hundred dollars. YMMV If $1700 or $1800 for a used H535 seems high to you, try buying one brand new. (Plain tops don't count. My estimations are based on normal flame Maple or quilted Maple toped guitars.) [* Comparing both MSRP's new.]
