A New Face, With Familiar Guitars

Hello Everybody!

I've lurked here for years; I'm on MyLesPaul as Kalamazuu.

I own two great Heritages, both of which I bought from Brentrocks.

Here's my number one, the best guitar I've owned, or even played

Heritage H-157

(some of these pics are Brent's)

The top was refinished to the Silverburst by Pete Moreno,

and it has Shaws in it. They sound great for classic rock, and very full and rich clean,

but I'm planning on swapping them for something higher gain, maybe MHDs, or maybe even

active SD Blackouts, I've also been looking at SD Active Dave Mustaine Livewires, which are supposed to be a boosted Jazz/JB combo.

Next there is the VIP-1 I got from Brent this summer.

I haven't taken any pics of it, but here's a few from the forum, I hope the previous owners don't mind. :)

It now has a Zebra Duncan in it, a Custom Custom I believe.

It's a cool guitar, and was exactly what I was looking at the time, a superstrat with one bucker that wasn't too pointy, made in USA and wasn't too pricy.

However, I don't think I'm much of a strat guy, and all the time goes to the 157 so it hasn't gotten much play, and I'll probably be selling her if I ever get around to listing.

And now a little about myself. I run distance as my other hobby, and played the cello for 5 or so years before I switched to upright bass in the school orchestra.

My music interests are pretty diverse, I love early Aerosmith, and Guns n' Roses, as well as thrash metal, the big 4 of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax, as well as stuff like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, etc.

I also enjoy listening to classical, especially romanticism like Mahler, and the big names like Beethoven and Mozart.

I'm glad to be here, and should have posted long ago!

Welcome to the club! Those are unique guitars, even in a forum that is characterized by uniquity. (Is that a word?) Glad you decided to post!

Welcome aboard Mack. You certainly have a couple classics to start with.

I like the fact that you learned music and other instruments before you turned to guitar.

Also your musical tastes at each end of the spectrum.

Thanks guys!

Also, forgot to mention, I'm running through a Marshall Class 5, with a Bad Monkey Overdrive and a Crybaby.

I'm hoping to get a Blackstar HT-5 for some higher gain stuff and more versatility.

Welcome Mack! That H-157 is an awesome piece and Pete does superb work. You certainly can't go wrong buying from Brent! Stick around and join in the conversations.

:hello: Mack, welcome to the cult.

You keep saying cult....is Charles Manson a member on here?

Welcome...now buy some more Heritages

The term 'cult' was originally used to describe a group of people who worshiped a deity. In this case the guitar, more explicitly the Heritage guitar.

It is also the name of a pretty cool band!

Nice score on the Heritage Brently Special Silver Burst, Mack

Welcome, don't let anybody fool ya, we are not a cult, were just good ol American enablers

Except of course, for those in Australia, the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, and other non-US Countries. .... :laughing7: However, they are enablers, just the same.

Welcome, Mack.

Mutual enablers of a shared passionate belief...Yeah, we're a cult in that sense, but with no leader.

And as much as we all agree that Heritage makes cool instruments, we disagree even more on practically everything else. That's all part of the fun.

No, no, no ;)

Welcome to the HOC :)
