gpuma Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Yesterday night, after putting my two little girls to bed, I went upstairs to play a little bit and I noticed that the LED on the foot-switch of my MESA Single Rect combo was on. Took off the cover and the power of the amp was indeed turned on, while the stand-by switch was not. Most likely one of my kids touched it and turned it on accidentally. I don't know how long it has been sitting that way, probably a very long time. The tubes were not hot, however. I could not really test it other than just plug in a guitar with the master at 0.001 just to make sure that it was producing some sound. So the question is, could the amp get damaged by being powered on in stand-by mode for a long period of time?
Kuz Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Just your power tubes may have slightly less life.
slider313 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Probably no harm done. If the amp now works without any problems then you're good to go.
