I'm sure some of you know who BW is, but he's ex of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and is really a great guitarist in his own right.

Here he is talking about his 140:

Would like to hear more of BW playing that 140!

To tell you the truth, I kind of follow Buddy and his career but until I saw this I wasn't aware he had a Heritage guitar. He normally seems to play either a Strat or a Lentz, and sometimes a Grosh ElectraJet. He is one of those guys who seems quite much more in demand in Europe than in the US, and I know he leaves some gear over there so he's not constantly schlepping it over the big water. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that his Heritage is kept in Europe.

If you dig blues and blues-based rock like I do, he is truly a monster player and IMO one of the great unknowns! He's not above playing a little country as well.

He's big time on the Dr. Z forums. Didn't realize when I was hanging there that he was rocking a Heritage.

I like the sounds hes getting out of the amp and H140.

It sounds right. Right compression, right bite, right mids and top end.

great H content thread.

Buddy can really play!!

The 140 looks teeny against his bigness.

+1 on both points. looks like a toy in his hands. doesn't sound like one!

Saw him a couple times as a Bluesbreaker. Tremendous guitarist - I've lost track of him the last few years. Didn't know he had a 140, either as was usually strats he was sporting. Thanks for those links.

He does make it look like a toy and sound like a monster.

Top shelf playing and some real nice tone! I think The Allman Bros should give him a call after Derek and Warren depart.

I just made that exact point on the Dr. Z forum, where Buddy is a frequent contributor. He sort of dismissed the thought in his normal very humble manner, but I can think of no one who can sing and play that could fill Warren's shoes any better.

Thing is, I think this will be the end of the band after 2014. Gregg has almost said as much.

Clownburst, and that crappy Schaller hardware? This guy will never make it...

Thanks for the post --I've heard the name, but never before heard him play. Good stuff.

That's the first time I've seen him with a 140. Most of the early stuff that I have seen has been with a Tele or Strat, or later the Lentz.

Buddy has great licks. His version of Shakey Ground is my favorite.

Buddy confirmed that he does in fact leave the 140 in England, and uses it any time a tune calls for humbuckers.

I sure agree with you on this version of Shakey Ground. Just pure funk

He's playing it with a borrowed real '52 Tele through a stock Dr. Z Carmen Ghia 2x10.
