big bob Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 That is the quintessential el-84 sound. Nice snatch! They are heavy amps, but look on the bright side, with just a little giging you should be ripped in no time.

smurph1 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 There is a Hot guitar player in Lansing named "Frog" who uses a Bad Cat.. I've heard him a few times.. Awesome tones!! Nice Job Brent!!
bolero Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 oh yeah, that's nice!! congrats I think Mark Sampson should call his next amp company "Snatchless"
Steiner Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Then one could have a snatch on their NADs...
212Mavguy Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Steiner nailed it, the reason for the Matchless parts is that Mark Sampson is Bad Cat's daddy, just like he is for Matchless.
DetroitBlues Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Mark Sampson is an amp god in my book. Touch any Matchless, Bad Cat, SMF, or Star and you'll be a believer too. For some reason, I think I've seen or heard a SMF amp before...
holyroller Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I have to grin everytime i see this . Tee hee Nice snatch!
mtpatty Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Welcome Badcat Brent! I have a CubIIR...great amps-
Steiner Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 That amp is high on my radar. I had a Cub II and like a fool, let it go. I envy you mtpatty! Enjoy!

rockabilly69 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I've had a few Matchless amps, and although I liked them for a while, I always went back to what I know, TopHat and vintage Fender. There was one Lightning that I heard though, and it was incredible for the EL84 sound! Sadly someone jumped on it before I made my mind up to buy it. Foolish me! I hope your amp rocks you Brent like the way that Lightning did me! And I hope Mark Sampson got his Matchless Mojo into that Badcat!I Oh yeah, I used a Matchless Hotbox on my pedal board for about 3 years:)
rockabilly69 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 BTW Brent, I think you're getting better at these tone demonstrations, as I'm hearing more amp and less pedals, and that truly gives us a better feel for what the amp or guitar brings to the table! Great Job!
rockabilly69 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Is it gone yet?? ........ hahahahahahah!
yoslate Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Is it gone yet?? ........ But if you think about it, it was going, the minute it came....
