Blunote Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It appears to me that Heritage was using the same neck/tenon for double-cut as they did (and still do) for the single-cut. If my SC didn't have the upper bout and was turned into a DC, that section of tenon behind the heel would still be there, just like the Paul's picture shows. Look like they did change the neck/tenon design on later ones to give better upper fret access. I see what you mean now.
GuitArtMan Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Here's what I'm asking about. Two with a longer body extension that meets then neck heel. And one with the shorter design. It's hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like the ones with the long body/neck joint are flat backs and the one with the short body/neck joint is an arched back.
pressure Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Short body/neck joint with a flat back and no access panel. Made in June/July 2012.

Nope. Mine is the current model with shorter neck joint. And it is a flat back. I think you now have to order, beg and plead to get a Millie with an arched back. Marv also mentioned they won't put access plates on the arched backs.
