It's been a while since I posted on this, so I thought I'd start a new thread as a way to tell everyone thanks for all of the help. I'd asked bunches of questions and got lots of great help. HOC is again--and always AWESOME! thanks to all.

In the end I let of the "I'm gonna play stadiums" concept and bagged the Mesa Road king idea after some good advice from here. I tried what was available in the area many times.

Tried: Blackstar HT50 head, Blackstar ht40 and HT 60 combo, H&K 36 tubemeister head and 36 combo, Egnater head, fender assortment, Vox AC 30 and AC 15.

In the end it was price and tonal diversity. I went with a H&K switchblade (used) 50watt tube combo. GOOD REVIEWS, AFFORDABLE PRICE, LOTS OF DIVERSITY, RIGHT WATTAGE. I preferred a 50 head but H&K doesn't make one unless you wanna pay serious money. I liked the tubemeister and hope the switchblade is similar. (silly name though)

My favorite on paper/audio clips was a Bogner Shiva---but again--too much money!

Bottom line: H&K 50 switchblade combo (wnated head!) used from GC (lowest price). 30 day return if I don't like it of course. All tube amp with separate on board trem, reverb, delay & chorus. (we will see how these sound)...$499.00 free shipping. It arrives Wednesday.

THANKS ALL FOR THE HELP....I hope it sounds good. HOC is made up of so many amazing folks...Thanks all!

We get >8" all the time here in Upstate NY with regular deliveries but we're equipped to handle it much better than the south. Here's hoping you get your new toy today! Cheers :)
