Wampler Ace Thirty

Oh my! I want one of THESE!!!

This demo is done with a very similar guitar to mine and through a pretty clean Fender. So I should be able to achieve similar results through my Swamp Ash Studio/Vibrolux Reverb gear. Nice!

Apparently Vox have 'persuaded' Wampler to rename this unit, so any with the current name will be worth a little extra on eBay for a while :)

This could very well be my next purchase. I don't any pedal like this. Thanks for the PSA, H!!

 I like it. Does it make one as good as the guitar player?

I'm banking on it :P

I'm waiting for Gearmandude's take on it and Prymaxe Vintage for the guitar playing :)

That is a great sounding pedal H, but I think you should bust out the soldering iron and build

yourself a nice "H" branded Vox AC15/30 Clone:) I would love to follow that build thread!!!

Just checked the HotRox website and they have them in stock for £255. I shall have to pop across and try one out... :)

Safe to assume these are intended to go into the front end of amps or at least have a guitar amp in the equation? The demos are impressive as are the glowing reviews. I'd love to have a "gets a sound similar too" set of pedals (not unlike these Wamplers or the Tech 21 Character series) then go into something like the Tech 21 Power Engine. Depending on what it is I was doing, I'd just take a different pedal preamp with me.

It's on my list, Daniel :) Weber do a 6D30 kit that looks interesting and their layouts/schematics are always easy to follow. If I could get an old chassis cheaply from somewhere, I'd go that route. ClassicTone have the transformers and most of the rest is over the counter stuff.

Recently acquired a Wampler Euphoria. It has replaced the Fultone I've had on my board for a while, now. Gigged it the day I took delivery on it. Delicious! Used it with my 22W boutique Bitar, the amp Vince Lewis used the last time he came to a PSP. Sitting in all night with friends in a very Chicago style blues band, with a lot of vintage equipment (guitar player plays vintage Gretsch and Strat through a '57 tweed Vibrolux, and a '57 Tweed Pro), so I wanted a sound consistent with that...warm textured breakup, with high end clarity and a bit of thump. Got it in spades, with very little effort to find it. This is my first Wampler pedal, and I'm very impressed with the sounds that jump right out of it!! I predict you'll love the thing, Howard!

Has anyone tried the Wampler Tweed pedal?

For those of you in the US, that's $420 using current rates. The same pedal in the US is $240. What a rip-off.

Well I hope you go that route because those amp threads inspire me!

It's often the case that we pay roughly the same number in pounds as those in the USA pay in dollars. Interestingly I checked the price of the Red Witch Empress Chorus (a great analogue chorus/vibrato pedal which is made in New Zealand - I have one) which is around £180 here and $300 in the States, which works out as roughly equal. A Marshall JCM 900 4100 head is about £840 over here and around $1900 (£1134) in the States.
