Someone In Kalamazoo Loves Me (Happy Valentines Day)

Happy Valentines Day to me.

I guess someone in Kalamazoo loves me. I came home from work today and found this little box waiting for me on the "timeout bench" in the foyer.

It was completely unexpected. I had asked Marv to do wood back plates for my 150 way back when I was picking up my 357 and he was pretty non-committal. He did do the wood pickguard and back plate for my 357 (the first ever I must say) but offically declared them "a pain in the ass".

I wasn't sure he would do any more but Bill VG. got him on a good day and he did wood covers for his 357 too.

Anyway, once I actually speced it out and sent some money I was more concerned with the form, fit, and function and the back plates took a back seat. When Green Oak Guitars (Skydog52) sent me the first shots of the 150 I was a little dissapointed that it had plastic covers. I called Paul and asked him to interceed on my behalf since it hadn't yet shipped. Marv never said no, but he never said yes either. Marv and I had already had so many "discussions" on the 357 and the 150 that I didn't want to appear as a cadger.

Paul told me that Marv said, loosley, " I don't know , I don't think I can match the color etc."

So, when she arrived last week I loved her as she was, but then today I opened the package and lo an behold

Thank you Marv, thank you Heritage, thank you Green Oak Guitars!

All I can say is Marv must really like you. Last time I asked him I didn't think there was a snowballs chance in hell it would happen.

Of course it's been an unusual winter up here.

Very pretty! Now we just need to see them on the guitar.

I agree! The thing is, I dropped it off Friday at lunch for a setup :( There was a a buzz on the G string that I couldn't get rid of with my limited experience. ( I have a feeling I set myself up with that statement)

It will have to wait until Monday.

Boooo! Really cool looking covers.

Even the Fed Ex package says "GND" which, we all know, is dyslexic for "Happy New Guitar Day."

As the proprietor of Green Oaks Guitar said: It has been cold here...

Oh Man, those are SWEET! I'm glad Marv decided to do those for you. Now you won't have to make him sit on the "Timeout Bench!" Nice going greasing the works for Dave, Paul! (This is not in reference to Dave's G string, by the way....)

Fortunately for me I asked Marv to make my wood plates before he did the finish on Dave's "pain in the ass orange" H-357.

Where is this confounded Green Oaks Guitar store? I can't seem to find it.... :icon_scratch:

Does it have an orange label on the back with a 157?

No label on these. But now that begs the question, are these considered original equipment or an aftermarket upgrade?

What will this do the resale value? :icon_scratch:

How will these affect the tone? :icon_scratch:

What about sustain? :icon_scratch:

Oh the humanity!! :crybaby2:
