BuddyDog Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Thanks for the kind words, all! Now comes the dilemma. Do I want to change the bridge & tailpiece? Change the PUP's? Seems to sound great so far through an AC30HW2X and a Yamaha THR10C. Haven't run it through a SF Deluxe Reverb yet. Don't know if any changes would improve over the Schaller hardware, or if I would even be able to tell the difference. As far as pedals, I've been using a Diamond Compressor, Red Llama, Timmy, VP Jr, Carbon Copy, Boss CE-2, Boss FRV-1, Boss TR-2 and a Ditto. @WMW, seems like GC and the local animal shelter have a lot in common. Lots of mutts and an occasional pedigree. I am not knocking GC as I have found some great things there, it's just the nature of their store.
Blunote Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 What pickups does the label list? They could be HRWs.
BuddyDog Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 All the label inside says is "H-535 NAT". PUPs have 2 adjustment screws on each side, so I'm thinking they are Schallers. According to the S/N, first guitar built on 02/22/00.

I personally prefer tone pros hardware, made a difference in tone for the better, but I really did it for aesthetic reasons. I put in Duncan Antiquities for the tone and LOVED them. You will get a wide variety of suggestions as far as pickups & hardware goes, but I would make the same decisions today as I did when I owned it. Made a huge difference to me. YMMV Edit: I play through a blackface style amp.

DC Ron Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Congrats! I have a similar guitar and went with tonepros and seth lovers. Changed the pickup rings and knobs while I was at it. See avatar...
