sksmith66 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 looks darker than almond sunburst. I love it. exactly what I want on my next guitar. looking for more examples to drool over.
SouthpawGuy Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 My money is on dark almond burst. Small world btw
Blunote Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Looks like OSB or "Old Style Burst" aka Tobaccoburst. Same as the H150 in my avatar.
Spectrum13 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 OSB "Old Style Burst" Same as the prospect in my avatar.
les paulverizer Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 My H150's got the exactly same finish, only a smidge darker. It turns heads whenever I pull it out. Then I start playing it and...it turns ears too! ;-)
Redsand Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 OSB Looks like OSB or "Old Style Burst" aka Tobaccoburst. Same as the H150 in my avatar. Plus 1...................It's one of the most brilliant finishes Heritage offers, IMHO!
HANGAR18 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I was going to say OSB but doesn't the sticker inside the body say ASB (Antique Sunburst)? My old 535 was ASB and looked very similar to that.
SouthpawGuy Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 OSB doesn't have red in the finish, nor does ASB 575 in OSB Prospect in ASB No red in either. Could just be the lighting bit it looks like there's red in the finish of this one .
yuominae Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I dunno, I reckon it does look very similar to the finish on Hangar18's 535. The differences could just be in the wood and the lighting.
tbp0701 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Is it my monitor or does that look similar to this Tobaccoburst Millennium? (Photo from a Wolfe GBase ad - http://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-millennium-dc-2013-tobacco-burst#)
chico Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I vote that it is antique sunburst, or a dark almond burst. My avatar is OSB, on a Millie DC. Has more yellow or vintage burst as it fades to a black edge at the rim. It's a cool looking instrument whatever it is officially.
Yooper Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Looks like the sticker says ASB. Antique Sunburst looks completely different under different lighting.
SouthpawGuy Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Looks like the sticker says ASB. Antique Sunburst looks completely different under different lighting. Might just be the lighting for sure
Beagle216 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Wow, this poor guy is going to be very confused. Truth is, without looking at the label, you can't tell. Lighting can do very funny things. Show that to the guys when ordering and they can likely match it!

yoslate Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Different guys mixing tint, on different days, spraying differently, and each piece of wood takes a finish just a little differently. Label tells the story...obviously. It's a really nice color (I'm thinking ASB)!!
TalismanRich Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Slammer's got this one right! The label looks to say ASB and it looks a lot like the one in his picture. There's not enough red for Almond Sunburst.
LK155 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Here's my former H155 (now Grubber's) in Antique SunBurst... With some glare from the overhead flourescent light.. And with natural light..
SouthpawGuy Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Here is Antique Sunburst (ASB) Slammer is that your 555 ?
Redsand Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I've said it before and I'll say it again, Will's H555 posted above has quite possibly the coolest, most unique grain pattern that I've ever seen on a heritage guitar. It almost looks like a blurred digital pixilation, none the less, it's quasi- hypnotic and I love it so. Good day, Sir.
tonedeaf Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I have an H-575 that looks extremely close. It is an ASB. It is an older model and has aged marvelously. I pulled up some pictures I took of the guitar and they much don't look like your H-155. So I brought up the actual guitar to compare it to the OP's pictures and the match is very close. Lighting sure does make a difference.
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Slammer is that your 555 ? Yes sir!! That one I will never part with!
