augfive Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Hey guys, Just looking at pics and researching to get ready to order a 150 build from Jay Wolfe. Pretty much going with the Wolfe upgrades that they offer already- Long neck tenon, tone pros, ect. For pickups,So far , I'm liking 59's ,but open to suggestions. Not sure about finish yet, Black a beauty, maybe trans black. Anyway, what do y'all think about coil tap, or other options, pickups , ect. I value the input and opinions here and look forward to getting this guitar started! Thanks, Alan
yoslate Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Bound headstock, inlaid logo, if not offered on the version you choose.
augfive Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Seth Lovers Yeah,I am considering them also. My 535 has a Seth lover and a 59- great combo.
Redsand Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 A Trans Black H157 is with Seth's will kick all the ass's of people!
Beagle216 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Bound headstock, inlaid logo, if not offered on the version you choose. +1. Definitely need this.

Number8 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Ask them to customize the body like this Les Paul: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=1393168 *Apologies if you need to register on the Gear Page to view this. Maybe a member could rip the images? (I don't know how.)
holyroller Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Isnt long tenion standard feature? Get it pleked , bone nut, locking tuners, those diamond ish fret markers, 5 piece neck, ultra flame upgrade. Ebony fret board.locking tone pros bridge. Wineburst.

holyroller Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I would do the coil taps, nice to have that option, just incase, also agree bound headstock and inlay logo.
tsp17 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Seth Lovers Bound headstock, inlaid logo, if not offered on the version you choose. +1 and thumbs up on trans black. Great finish. One of my favorites. OSB, ASB, VSB and dark ALSB are also proven 150 winners. That would be a very cool 150 regardless of what finish you choose.
yuominae Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 +1 too on the headstock and bound logo. I also always thought that the bound maple pickguards look really classy.
SouthpawGuy Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Bound headstock, inlaid logo, if not offered on the version you choose. An absolute must.
SouthpawGuy Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 As far as I'm aware a long neck tenon, tone pros hardware and Duncan p'ups are the norm from the factory these days, not upgrades.
drfie Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 y'all stop posting pics of that "less paul." It's hideous!
augfive Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Isnt long tenion standard feature? Get it pleked , bone nut, locking tuners, those diamond ish fret markers, 5 piece neck, ultra flame upgrade. Ebony fret board.locking tone pros bridge. Wineburst.Yes Long neck tenon, tone pros ect..is now standard,at least through Wolfe guitars..not sure about all dealers. I think I'm going with Rosewood board. As far as ultra top ,depends on price. Funds are not unlimited! Keep it comin'- you guys know your Heritage guitars, love it!
augfive Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Trans black is really bad... AssBeautiful!
SouthpawGuy Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Another option would be to have a coloured trans finish top with a natural back. Very striking. There is a trans black 150 with such a finish, owned by a HOC member from Germany. I'll see if I can find a pic.
gpuma Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 That custom body les Paul is the ugliest thing I've seen since the Firebird X
tsp17 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 maybe a belly cut? save a little weight and make it more comfortable....just a thought.
