bigbird Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I recently picked up an 08 H-555 in natural finish. I love this guitar but the binding along the neck is wavey when you run your finger along it where the frets align. Also the binding is very sharp and is causing pain in my thumb due to my thumb over approach to barre chords. Has anyone else had this problem, I didn't think I'd have a problem like this from such an expensive and quality instrument. Does anyone know if this could be filed and finished?
tulk1 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Can you post a close up picture of the binding? Bummer you're having issues with your new guitar.
DetroitBlues Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Often, the binding is applied after the frets are installed, so you may see those "nubs". Plus it sounds like you have some fret sprouts or your frets need to be rounded on the ends...

It is that time of year.
