kidsmoke Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 love the finish, and the bookmatched top does a lot for it. Congratulations.
tulk1 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Would it really be a GM without the EMGs? He ripped them out of his first one within days. And yeah, I think it'd still be a GM model. Just sans EMGs.
varminthunter1 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Beautiful guitar Brent! Please give us the tone update.
squawken Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 He ripped them out of his first one within days. And yeah, I think it'd still be a GM model. Just sans EMGs. With very good results I might add
DetroitBlues Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I would have thought that a Gary Moore guitar would have been modeled after his "Greeny" Les Paul which was a '59 Les Paul. Not exactly huge compared to the 58's. (As I've read, the R8 is .090" at the first fret and 1.0" at the 12th, but the R9 is still a "C" shape, but thinner, somewhere around .082" at the 1st fret... To hear the GM H150 has a thin neck is a bit of a surprise. But then again, my new PRS is .835" at the 1st fret, which feels signifcantly thinner than my Epi Dot...
brentrocks Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Congratulations. I'm curious about how those EMGs will sound through the 1974x clone. Thanks man!!! Absolutely Awesome!!!
brentrocks Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 oh man, that is a killer top...stunning array of flame on that snatch! I'd be sorely tempted to put an ABR-1 & normal tailpiece on there. and some throbak's but I guess that's heresy Thanks man! I have thought about converting it over to Tone Pros
brentrocks Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 It's a looker for sure. Are you going to leave the EMGs in this one? I think I am
fxdx99 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Congrats, Brent. A GM in your hands seems very fitting given your favor of the first one you had. Nice, nice, nice.
brentrocks Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 I had to build up a few of the nut slots tonight before I did the tone demo. It was buzzing on the first fret pretty bad. I like the EMGs.
SouthernCanuck Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Man, that sounds great - I wonder how much is the EMGs vs. the amp - vs. the player? S_C
brentrocks Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 Man, that sounds great - I wonder how much is the EMGs vs. the amp - vs. the player? S_C well...the player certainly is helping any
davesultra Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Those Gary Moore models had some crazy/cool tops on 'em! Nice score Brent, enjoy that one! Nice video too.

golferwave Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Holy smokes Brent ... you done good!! The guitar is certainly a beauty and the tone is awesome! I'm not a big fan of EMG's but those sound great in that guitar ... congrats and enjoy!!
brentrocks Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 I was sitting in my Lay-z-boy playing it tonight....got up to get some girl scout cookies, put the GM in my chair. When I came back, I saw this....
