Ned Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Not too many comps on these. Can anyone provide a price range that one would expect to pay on a good specimen? Very pretty, beautifully appointed. Weighs about as much as my twin reverb. Ballpark? Want to pry it loose from the owner but I don't play too much electric and so I would probably let it go someday and don't want to take too much of a bath.
DavesNotHere Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Weighs about as much as my twin reverb. I can't weigh in on the price, but Wow! That's a monster 140!
DetroitBlues Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I don't see any value of anniversary models over standard models. Its a 140, so my guess of the "average price" is between $850 and $1050 for a H-140. Adding a stamp on the back saying it XXX number out of XXX and a $5 truss rod cover doesn't amount to much. Heritages are not collectors guitars (for the most part), they are guitar players guitars that are meant to be used.

Tenth ani's have the tenth anniversary banner inlay, hollow traps, ultra tops, one PC backs, multi binding. All the bling.. I would put value for a clean 8/10 at 1400-1600 And go find me a 140 for 850.00 A standard 140 is going between 950.00 and 1300.00 depending on options. Even the beaters at guitar center start at 1000.00
big bob Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 This guys playing stinks... But he shows the guitar off perfectly. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gX_JfKxttHM
Ned Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 Thanks all. As Lance knows I have a thing for ebony finger boards. The binding is 5 ply, the top is figured and very slightly spalted. The back is one piece of the densest mahogany ever. I've got a crush. This could take a while.
smokedtires Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 This guys playing stinks... But he shows the guitar off perfectly. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gX_JfKxttHM Beautiful example of A 140. That guy looks like he has a nice setup there, I was a bit depressed when he started playing. IMHO $1000 would be a really good deal, $1200 a fine deal, $1400 a like brand new condition deal.
smurph1 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I have a 94 H-140.. I got from Brentley a couple years ago.. It's a beauty.. See my Avatar.. I think it was $1100 or $1150.. Somewhere in that neighborhood.. but it's a rare quilt top model....
smurph1 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 That's a beauty.. Almost has an orange-ish cast to it.. Amberburst? and yes the guys playing stinks!! LOL
SouthpawGuy Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 What color is the H 140 in the video? Looks like vintage sunburst to me, VSB. VSB is one Heritage finish that can vary a lot, some have a more pronounced burst. The 10th Anniversary 140s look to have very little actual burst, also known as a lemon drop. Pics from the gallery.
heritagefan7 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Beautiful gallery pics---I hope the deal works out---I honestly started actually giggling as I listened to the guy playing in the youtube video---Not that I'm any better,. but would you really post that for the world to hear? C'mon man! Nice guitar though.
