Saw this on fleabay and thought it was too good of an opportunity, so swooped down in last 8 seconds. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291087714902?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1050wt_729

When it arrived, I was shocked at the condition, it looked as if it had been barely played. Had some flatwound 11's on it. Setup was fine except that the pickups were closer to the bass strings than the lighter ones. Pole pieces seemed like they were too low. Neck pickup was angled so that pole piece side was farther away from the strings than the other side. It wanted to feed back too much through my amp. So I readjusted the PU heights, and did up the pole pieces the way I like and got three nice voices as a result with the feedback issue gone now. I can't help but wonder if the seller had an amp that failed to deliver enough bottom end or just didn't know how to or had any curiosity about tweaking the pickups, Schallers are in this one and I think that they are appropriate in this design. The sound palette reminds me of my 576. I was going to replace the flatties with some roundwounds, but after tweaking the pickups I found that there was plenty of top end available. So I'm going to leave them in it. The tones are rich and warm, but plenty of snarl with the OD and boosted OD gain on my Ethos pedal. Very sweet sounding instrument overall. I think I got a nice snatch on this one.

You should bring it up to Deer Valley on one of my gig days, I would love to give it a test drive,

and we could make a little iphone movie for the crew here:) If you tell me when I can make

sure to have a good amp there to play it through! It's a beauty!

Nice snatch indeed. Amazing what a little tweak here and there can do. Congrats!

It's a wonderful thing when someone knows just how to get the sweetness out of these beautiful guitars. Well done!

@ Daniel…

First few of April let's get it done...

I do wish to bring a tone war worthy rig from the stable to jam with on a few of the simpler ones. Indoor/Apex dining room volumes or knock the windows out 5-6 stories up. Your call.

Well as you you can probably figure, the Montage doesn't go for the high volume stuff, so it would have to be a low volume thing in the Apex. They have a strict no jamming policy, but if we wait to the end of the season we could probably sneak a few jam songs in:)

Nice! But seller listed it as a Gibson 350/175 too, obviously he was confused......surprised Ebay didn't pull the auction for title spamming!
