mark555
I have an old carlsbro 150w pa amp which is great, but seems to overheat. This is strange because it is a transistor amp. Everything works, it just stops producing sound. Can any one here with technical knowledge shed some light on this for me? I put it away last week and when we switched it on again a week later it worked fine until after an hour or two is did the same again.
SouthpawGuy
Just a guess ... it may be overheating. maybe there's a fan inside not working, or there is dust blocking an inlet / outlet.
peterbright
I agree check the fan and make sure the vents are unobstructed.
mark555
I know the 300w model has a fan, thanks for the tip, I will look at it as soon as I can.
bolero
maybe a good idea to blow the dust out of it with a can of compressed air, dust will inhibit any heatsinks etc if it were mine I would bring it to a tech though! whatever is causing it to overheat might be causing damage...or it might not even be overheating
