2bornot2bop Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 '07 Golden Eagle...it took close to a year to finally land this one. Tag says the shade is VSB...but she's already been dubbed Ms. Buttercup. The Benedetto floater and custom bound Ebony L5 style pick guard were nice touches. I've yet to add my favored TI 13 or 14's, but she's already a tone munster. Heritage did themselves proud once again. It feels good to be back in the Heritage fold with one of the nicest Golden Eagles I've had yet...and I've had a few...
2bornot2bop Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Thanks guys...now that the Seattle sun has decided to come out she's changed to a deeper shade...I'm always amazed how archtop shades change depending upon the light.
2bornot2bop Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 2B....that Guild is OH so drool worthy. She's a harmonic Queen Barry!
MartyGrass Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Well done once again. I spotted that GE and was also charmed by the finish. Even Coltrane is staring at it in your final pic. Let us know how well the Doug's Plugs work.
2bornot2bop Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 A rare treat just arrived, by way of Japan...'You Taught My Heart To Sing'...McCoy Tyner & Jackie McLean...seemed appropriate.
MartyGrass Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 It's a rare treat, alright. So rare we can't get access. I was recently watching Tyner's guitar CD/DVD album. He hasn't lost his immense talent. And he's showcasing younger guitarists, at least they are younger than him. I hope to have his spirit when I get to his age. I know I won't have his chops.
MartyGrass Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I have a shop talk question, 2B. How do you get those finishes to shine so well?

You can't press the play button on your screen? It's on mine. Fabulous cut!. McCoy was a huge influence on countless piano students....I've seen him practically every time he's come to Seattle. Huge hands...and major chops....nice man too! That's my 'tube channel...pnojazz It even has a pursuit I had several decades ago...gulp! I have a shop talk question, 2B. How do you get those finishes to shine so well? Ev'thing that comes through here gets the Virtuoso Premium Clean and Virtuoso Premium Polish treatment. It's not labor....it's love...remember that!

Keith7940236 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Hi Greg, How would you compare the GE with the Guild?
RhoadsScholar Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 That is beautiful. Love that finish. Very nice aquisition and welcome back to the heritage fold....
Gitfiddler Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Greg~ That GE makes me weak in the knees! And standing proud next to that amazing Guild is the perfect partnering. Well done...once again.
2bornot2bop Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Hi Greg, How would you compare the GE with the Guild? hey Keith...almost didn't recognize you with the new avatar the GE just arrived last night...once I change strings I'll be better able to hear her acoustic potential. That AA is an acoustic dream...most harmonically vibrant archtop I've had yet...it's got a long slow decay...like a lap piano. But it's nice having a GE again...I'd been jonesin' for one for a bit, but now I'm happy I waited for this one...orange archtops aren't really my thing...But in room light it's more butterscotch...there's depth to the shading my iPhone won't capture. I sold the Nikon digital I had, becuz the iPhone takes more color rich pics...too bad I can't place it on a tripod! That is beautiful. Love that finish. Very nice aquisition and welcome back to the heritage fold.... thanks RS...pm me the address where you want the plugs forwarded...they're yours....I have no feedback issues...I'm barely on a volume level of 2. I play acoustically 80% of the time...this GE now gets to breathe.....
Vanschoyck Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 That's a really nice combo of features on that one!
