cosmitron Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Hi everyone! After some years not playing I felt the need for a new (to me) Les Paul. While I was googling, jaded, I fell on an ad for a Heritage h-150 and got very excited. Now the guitar is home and I can't stop playing. I've already swapped the Schaller bridge with a Tonepros set (thanks to this forum I knew what to pick) and now wait for a set of BKP Mules. I don't like the SD much but they helped me appreciate the stunning potential of this beautiful piece of art. The guitar is pretty heavy but I don't care much since I don't have time to be in an band.
brentrocks Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Congrats and welcome to the Club! whats the story on the GT?
Gitfiddler Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Cos~ Welcome to the HOC. You have great taste in gitfiddles. Interesting LP. Did you get a discount since it has no tune-o-matic bridge? Seriously, you did good on that beautiful 150. Check back after the Bare Knuckles are installed. I've been interested in those ever since hearing others claim they were a close second to Throbaks, tone wise.
golferwave Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Welcome to the HOC! That is certainly a stunning H-150. Enjoy your new axe!
slider313 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Nice score! Be sure to measure the resistance of your volume and tone pots. I would replace them also, when you install the new pickups, if they're 300K's.
cosmitron Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Congrats and welcome to the Club! whats the story on the GT? Thanks! The Goldtop is the last Les Paul Gibson I bought, 5 years ago. I've had many of them before but this one was the keeper. It's a 2007 VOS with stock Burstbuckers, chunky 57 neck. Rock solid! It sounds great! But the honeymoon is now with the H-150. Tee Hee!

I've been interested in those ever since hearing others claim they were a close second to Throbaks, tone wise. Thanks! The price was fair enough (especially for Germany)! And now that I have this guitar and know how the Heritage can be, I'm really glad I didn't take another Gibson. But yeah I'll make sure to post something about the Mules asap. About the Goldtop> Well actually yes! The seller couldn't sell exactly because of that! He dropped his price and BAM I took it. A few months later the trend was the wraparound bridges.

I don't know if the SD are the stock pickups but if so, maybe the previous owner also thought about that too.
SouthpawGuy Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Thanks! This helps! I'll check what's in it asap. I don't know if the SD are the stock pickups but if so, maybe the previous owner also thought about that. Stock zebra pickups would be unusual, although it may have been custom ordered that way.
mtpatty Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 you are going to love the Mules!- I have BK's in many guitars- My personal fav is an Emerald Bridge and a Mule neck in an Epiphone LP- sweet!
H Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Very nice top on that Welcome to the HOC from another European member!
yuominae Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 That a very nice top on that H150, congratulations! And welcome, it's nice to have a fellow Berliner on the forum
cosmitron Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 What color top is the Heritage? I think it's just the bare maple tint honey or lemon drop, but that's a good question, I have no clue!
skydog52 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Welcome aboard! Nice start on the Heritage collection. I have Mules in one of my Millenniums and I love them.
HANGAR18 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Beautiful H-150!!! That other thing isn't too bad either but that H150 is awesome! WELCOME!
SouthpawGuy Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I think it's just the bare maple tint honey or lemon drop, but that's a good question, I have no clue! The finish looks like amber to me http://www.heritageguitar.com/finishes.html Did you check the label on the control cover ? Original pickups and finish are sometimes listed there.
cosmitron Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Thanks everyone for the warm welcome ^^ SouthpawGuy> Thanks for the link! It actually looks pretty much like to the Antique Natural finish in real life. I'll take some day light pics asap (and you got me pretty curious about what could be written in the control cover)
