cosmitron Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 I know some people will disagree, but I have the feeling that the SD gave some flatness to the sound. On the other hand, I've always felt I can rely on them in gig/hostile conditions, especially with very high volumes. The Mule have a better bass/treble balance to my ears, much more interesting and useful for what I'm doing. They also react in a very musical way to the way I will hit the strings. They're also less 'gainy' but more 'meaty' and therefore match the guitar pretty well imho. I need to play more to give a proper opinion, but I'm very positive so far. I also don't feel any need to change the stock pots, but might put some .015uf PIO caps in it and try the 50's wiring later on. (I want to add I'm having a hard time trying to describe the sound with words)
Slasher Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Hi everyone! After some years not playing I felt the need for a new (to me) Les Paul. While I was googling, jaded, I fell on an ad for a Heritage h-150 and got very excited. Now the guitar is home and I can't stop playing. I've already swapped the Schaller bridge with a Tonepros set (thanks to this forum I knew what to pick) and now wait for a set of BKP Mules. I don't like the SD much but they helped me appreciate the stunning potential of this beautiful piece of art. The guitar is pretty heavy but I don't care much since I don't have time to be in an band. what colour is that?very beautiful gratz
