AlanL Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Been looking for a high-quality gig bag that will hold and protect a Super Eagle. Any suggestions? Due to the big headstock, the only thing I have found so far is in reality made for an acoustic bass body.
Blunote Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I'd take a look at Kaces boutique polyfoam cases. I've got a similar case for an acoustic I really like. http://kaces.com/product/296/boutique-polyfoam-guitar-case-electric-guitar
ehmanages Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 How about the Taylor big baby gig bag? Used to use one for a eastman 910ce jazz box I had... quality is pretty solid and its not so eye catching that someone will think your fiddle is pricey.
Gitfiddler Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 AlanL~ What a gorgeous Super Eagle!!! Is that an early 90's model? Must see more of that beauty...Please.
tulk1 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Well, if you can find a WolfPak I can recommend those. Ran over this one ......... twice!! Only chipped a bit of poly. And that was probably where it was on a large, pointy rock in the gravel drive. Otherwise, I think I wouldn't have hurt the guitar at all. Then again, it wasn't a hollow body. So ...... might not want to run over it to test.
Blunote Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 ^^^Looks like a winner. Is it customary for you to run over guitar cases?

AlanL Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 By the way, I love the cases made by Blues Reunion and a couple of others in the $200-$300 price range, but the Super Eagle (specifically the head stock) is too long for the cases that fit Gibson and other arch tops. I will check out KACES.
AlanL Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Checked out Kaces, and did not find anything strong enough. Let me clarify. I want a gig bag that truly "protects," and I understand that will cost some dough re mi. My local dealer transports his classic L-5 in a Blues Reunion case that is so strong that he will drop it to the concrete with no worries. Size and shape are the problem with the Super Eagle guitar. It just doesn't fit in the cases designed for other manufacturers. Does anyone who actually plays an Eagle sized guitar have any recommendations? Thanks everyone who responded.
tulk1 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Have you looked at Mono cases? They seem to be very popular right now. Might toss a PM to Vince Lewis. I think he carries his hollow's in a gig bag. Or maybe that's just the outer sleeve. But, he's a great guy. May have some suggestions.
