Millennium Maestro Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I have a Hughes and Kettner Statesman(excellent Amp) During my Saturday performance the amp cut down to half power in the middle of a song, I was playing with a cord and moving around when it happened. - I checked the cords to see if anything had come loose, wiggled the ends of cables to see if there was any output change, peeked at the tubes... There were all lit. Then I litterally pumped up the volume to the amp up and finished the next 16 or so songs without a hitch! Any Ideas as to what may have gone on??
tulk1 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Power tube(s). Betcha. Couple of other things it can be, tho'. Make sure your FX Loop connectors are clean. Try jumpering those to see. But my guess is a power tube gone wonky.
golferwave Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Does the amp have a half power switch that could have malfunctioned Guy? If not I agree with Kenny, tubes.
Millennium Maestro Posted April 14, 2014 Author Posted April 14, 2014 She is a low hour new amp, but I understand tubes. Gonna reconnect it and see if the condition still exists. I just thought about this!!! 50 bucks says when I moved the cord brushed the volume knob on the POD 500X. ... The one thing I didnt think of!

Billgelder Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I set the master volume on the Line 6 HD 500 at 12 o'clock, so I can keep a eye on it, You might have hit it when using the expression pedal.
Millennium Maestro Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 I too set my master at 12 will have to pay attention to that in the future!
