Tim Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Just picked up a used Swart AST from Elderly. I've been lusting for either a Swart or Carr combo for quite awhile. The price was right so I jumped on it. What a sweet piece of workmanship (all hand wired with twin 6V6's) with awesome clean sounds. Takes pedals very well also. Nice addition to my grossly inflated equipment inventory.
ScottNaylor Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Love me some Swarts! I practice with a STR-T and never tire of its responsiveness and tone. Hope it provides many years of great musical service for you!
ridethatbike Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I had one for awhile and didn't completely love it. I did like it quite a bit, but it was too loud for me jamming at home. I do like their tone though, and they definitely have their own thing going which is more than a lot of manufacturers have to say while they try and chase that classic Fender/Marshall/Vox/etc tone. I wouldn't mind picking up a 5-watter at some point when I start using real amps again. Sam Vito has some awesome demos on YT. Enjoy it in good health!
smokedtires Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Wow, just research the Swarts abit, look like really nice amps, enjoy!
Thundersteel Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I've got its cousin, the Space Tone Reverb. It sounds great through a semi-hollow; it sounds even better with a boost pedal in front of it. Sadly, I haven't used it in a long time, as I usually use my Marshall or Mesa LSS.
fxdx99 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Congrats - AST has been on my short list for quite a while. Wonderful voicing they have.
Spectrum13 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Congrats! Swart makes great stuff...and I you have any questions they answer the phone.
augfive Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 welcome to the SWart club! I have an Atomic Space Tone Pro-- Love it!! Try it with A timmy ( or Tim) pedal in front..awesome combo of Amp/ Pedal
slider313 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Congrats! The other guitarist in our band has an AST. He seems to get some great tones. He does have a pedal board that looks like it could run one of the space shuttles, so I don't really get to hear him plugged straight into the amp!
ScottNaylor Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 augfive- the black tweed is gorgeous! Been thinking on picking up a second STR-T and making a stereo rig. Not anything I NEED, but it would give me another performance option for stereo or wet/dry. There's enough of a dynamic difference between the little Swart and my 5e3 that they don't work ideally in that setup.
bolero Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 aha!! very cool little amp I think I had one of his attenuators for a while, recognize the logo

Buddy Miller uses that rig with Robert Plant....two Swarts in stereo
Tim Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 Thanks for the pictures...still haven't gotten the hang of posting pics here.
duhvoodooman Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 A Swart, a Carr and a Mesa Lone Star? "Lucky bastard!!", as Phil X would say....
