Since I'm new, I'll ask a question.

What is up with The Heritage naming convention? I've grown up with human names. Strat, Les Paul, Monaco, Memphis, Impala, Cougar, Jag, etc. So I jump into Heritage guitars and I can't remember what I've looked at because of all the abbreviations and numbers. So I see something like HCM 172-1 FM and that's supposed to mean something? Is there a method to this Ethos? By the way, I don't even remember the number (name) for the guitar I just got from Brent. I guess I'll have to give it a Christian name.

Thanks much,

Not a lot of Rhyme or Reason.... Maybe this will help a bit....

H-??? = Heritage-Model #

CM = Curly Maple

Some models are named after streets around 225 Parsons Street, ie, the Academy and The Prospect.

The Millenium, ie the H-155, ie the "Millie" was designed around 2000. The Centurion, of which FredZepp owns the only one, is the guitar that was made in commemoration of the 100th year of guitar building at 225 Parsons Street.

In acoustic guitars, the HFT-445 stands for "Heritage Flat Top." I don't know if any of this makes your confusion better or worse, but that's how they roll!

Thanks, that helps. I did figure out what the 'H" stood for on my own though, LOL

But that's as far as I got before I wanted to get up and get a beer.

Heritage 535 / Gibson 335

Heritage 575 / Gibson 175

This..... The numbers closely relate to their Gibson counterparts.

H357 because of the different Gibson Firebird models III, V and VII. Dazzling logic!

ohhhh!!! and here i thought it was because you have to nearly put a gun to his head to get him to build one......

And Thorn, since someone mentioned the 535; I just have to say that they are the best semis I can get my hands on! And I live a few miles from the Gibson factory!! Also note, that I picked up a H525 a few months ago and that is their version of a Gibby 225 I believe. Hollowbody with 2 p90s. And man, it smokes! The numbers do take a minute to get used to, but once you do....ya do

I'd stay away from there. Wouldn't want to see you get rounded up in yet another Fed raid. ;)
