Nosignal Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Hi all! Just got back from my first trip to southpaw guitars in TX. Came back with my very first heritage, an H525 with a b6 bigsby! I'm in love with this guitar! I have only 1 issue. I'm having some problems with the high and low e strings slipping out of the tune-I-matic saddles. I think it's probably because of the break angle and notch depth. But even with that little issue, I'm loving it!
tsp17 Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Welcome!!! Great first Heritage. Its a beauty! If you become like the rest of us, it will be the first of many...
Kuz Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Some like roller bridges with a Bigsby. Incredible guitar!!! A 525, and maybe a 535, are guitars suited for a Bigsby, IMHO
ScottNaylor Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Killer! I wish I had insight into your string issue, hope you can get it sorted. Keep us posted?
bsck1 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 As previously noted, these wonderful guitars seem to breed. Even with the sincerest of intentions, their sound beckons and blamo, you need another. Congratulations on a beautiful instrument.
tonedeaf Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Congratulations on starting your journey. I am not sure when or where the rule was promulgated, but it states very clearly that you can not own just one Heritage. Good start though -- a lefty with a whammy bar, first one I have ever seen.
holyroller Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Wow!! Thats a heck of a my first heritage . Nice snatch
Dell18 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Wow. For real. That's slick. P90's and all too. I remember a couple years ago when I had just 2 electrics, both not Heritage. I really want a G&L Tele, Comanche, EGC flying V and a Freeman SG but whenever the $ is around I end up with another Heritage. That probably won't be your last.
Nosignal Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks for the replies, everybody! I'm absolutely loving the guitar! I jammed around with a couple friends last night. This plugged into my Marshall plexi style clone sounds pretty incredible. Can't wait to test it out more. I'll have to take a look at the roller bridges. I think if I just get the saddles notched out a bit more and raise the bridge, it would be okay. Also you all are completely right. This will not be my only heritage! This thing plays and sounds like a dream. I'll try to get some proper pictures up sometime soon.
chico Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Excellent.. And the plexi? Get outta here! We have been known to plug our Heritages into a plexi in this barn get together we do.. Welcome!
Nosignal Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Playing the H525 for the first time at Southpaw.
TalismanRich Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Nice choice going with the 525. They're really sweet guitars, and definitely different from the normal 150 and 535 styles.
Gitfiddler Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 The look on your face says..."I love this thing!" Welcome to the 525 club...even though yours is backwards.
Nosignal Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 I emailed Heritage yesterday about my string slipping issue. They asked me to mail them back the bridge and they're going to send me a roller bridge! Pretty excited!
Nosignal Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 I also had a question regarding the Lollar P90's that came with the guitar. I know there's not set rule for height setup of the pole pieces but I was wondering if anyone else's pickups came like mine (with the pole pieces raised almost to the string and not uniformly with the neck radius)?
