rstein Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 You really can't go wrong with any finish you choose. It's such a personal decision. I wish I had kept this one. I only sold it to fund a custom build. For my taste, it has just the right amount of flame, grain and mineral streaks. One of Heritage's finest VSBs I really like that finish!
tbonesullivan Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Most of the bursts that heritage does are fully translucent, so I don't see how any grain would be hidden. There are some, like Sunsetburst, Neptune Blue Burst, etc that have more solid colors in them, but Almond sunburst, vintage sunburst, cherryburst, and other bursts like that barely hide anything.
tbonesullivan Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Here's my VSB H-158. I like it best on all maple guitars. I don't like the style that has the cherry back/neck with the VSB top, often seen on H150CMs.
loddie Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 It was, but it was recently sold again. I'm not certain where it ended up. I've got it now, it's my first Heritage and I love it. Most I've ever splurged on guitar gear, but I'm glad I did.

SofaPlayer Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I cant decide between two different finishes. I love the natural top which I know will go well with my gold HRW but I saw this other finish at the factory last week now I am torn. I know there are many things to consider and ultimately it comes down to my own personal preference but this being my first heritage I could use the help. The one that is not finished is a actual photo of my guitar body. Thanks all in advance. Looking at those pictures, why not keep the top AN and go for VSB for the back and sides? Would be a very special guitar.
