ThunderChuck Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Couldnt beat the price (free) its was more passed off to me. I see she needs a few parts and the wiring looks a mess. Cant even test the pickups as it stands or string her up for that matter.(wiring diagram plz) i would love to fix her up. But if i know she'll be cared for i'll let her go The serial is c08504 Color is charcoal I will take pics asap so i can get every ones input
ThunderChuck Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Yeahh thats the one. ThunderChuck Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Heres the compartment And a frontal Headstock From behind
ScottNaylor Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Ouch. That's a labor of love! At least you know the wood quality is first rate, can't make up for that with any amount of parts and/or tweaking.
ThunderChuck Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 I do have the kahler tremolo disassembled. Gunked up like mad. Are the little brass wheels on the cam saddles supposed to roll? If so i need those as well lol
ThunderChuck Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Does that look like a charcoal paintjob or is this a refinish
peterbright Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 looks olive to me...do the pickup routs and control cavity give you any clues?
ThunderChuck Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Ill take a closer look in the morning I looked before but everthing looked pretty clean
ThunderChuck Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Yes she definitely has been repainted. And the only electronics issue im having now is the switch for the middle pickup. All other switches are working and the other two pickups give me sound! If i get some spare cash i can pick up the other odds and ends for a semi playable practice rig!
bsck1 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 You've got all my admiration for tackling this challenge. What a reward when you get to plug this in for the first time!
brentrocks Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 those Kahler parts can be tough to find. check out this place, i have had good luck there.... https://www.kahlerusa.com/
ThunderChuck Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Hey guys jest checkin in. I slapped it back together and strung it. My brother us currently tuning it. And thankyou for the link brent. Im only missing 2 fine tuners and the lock(s?) For the locknut. The other parts were cleaned as best as possible. Seems functional so far!
ThunderChuck Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 She lives! If nothing else she has a voice again!
