CJTopes Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I'm sure this has been discussed before but I'm looking at my next guitar purchase. Does the Prospect Blues Deluxe have a solid center-block like a 535 or is it chambered like the Millies? I'm looking for something like a Gibby 339 but without the pricetag. Also do all Blues Deluxe's come via the old Ed Roman rout or can they be ordered that way from heritage?
tulk1 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Blues Deluxe was a Roman configuration, correct. But, if you call the boys, mention you'd like a solid center block (and not mention Roman at all) they'll build you one right to your specs. They might even build you one if you DO mention ER. The basic, standard Prospect is a floating center block, semi-hollow. Not chambered.
big bob Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Heritage will build it however you want, solid center, floating center, full hollow.. Just ask real nice like!
PunkKitty Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 My Prospect is still available. http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/26301-2006-asb-heritage-prospect-with-bigsby/
CJTopes Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Love the finish on that. Unfortunately I'm looking for a thinner neck and no Bigsby.... Does taht have the "floating block"?
CJTopes Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Yeah the full center block is a must...... Thanks for the offer though. I'm not in a hurry, just trying to figure out what I want/need so I dont make another impulse buy....
heritagefan7 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Kitty--that is BEAUTIFUL! Im not in the market--in fact, I'm trying to sell a LOVELY 150 in FS/FT right now--but this actually tempted me--for a second--that is a gorgeous guitar--SOMEONE should buy it!---It seems that things are just really tough right now for sales....unfortunately.
tbonesullivan Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 for the record, the center block on the prospect IS full. However it's only flush with the top of the body, not the back. They use something similar to kerfing to fill the space between the block and the top, like on a 535 style. So there is a gap between the bottom of the center block and the back of the guitar. A millie has a center block that ends at the bridge, so it's a different beast than a prospect, with or without the "floating" center block.
