Shmockiebaby Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Has anyone out there installed a Bigsby B7 with the Vibramate V7 adaptor on their H150? http://www.vibramate.com/vibramate-v7-lp-install.php It is designed for a Les Paul, but I am wondering how close the dimension are between the LP and the H150 (from tail end of the guitar to the tailpiece studs). I'm thinking it should work. Anyone have any experience with this installation? Thanks!
Shmockiebaby Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 Sorry - I should have searched first!! I found an example from another post. It works! Thanks.
HANGAR18 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 If I ever wanted a Big on a guitar, using a vibramate would be the first thing I would try since I wouldn't want to drill holes in my guitar.
Shmockiebaby Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 I have drilled holes for Bigsby installations many times. I just like the subtle action of the Bigsby. And when I'm ready to commit..... Most of the time it has been on one of my many Gretsch guitars, and the B5 holes sometimes even line up with original tailpiece screws. But on a H140, it's a different story. I just used Vibramate for the first time today. Works pretty well. Lined up just a little bit crooked - but that could have been a misaligned strap button hole from the factory. Just slap it together loose, and then tighten it all down. Worked well on my new (used) H140, and easily reversible.
bolero Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I used a B5 & vibramate on an H150, worked great there was a bit of space at the back because the top drops off, but it worked fine & was only noticeable if you eyed it horizontally, up close
