OnTheWingsOfMaybe Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 It was my understanding that heritage used switchcraft toggle switches in their guitars, however when I ordered a vintage style nut it didn't screw on because (surprise!) the switch was this cheap thing: http://www.mojotone.com/guitar-parts/guitar-and-bass-switches-toggle/Switchcraft-Short-Straight-Type-3-WayToggle-Switch_2 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
davesultra Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 What year is your guitar from? I seem to remember the early '00s to late '00s were a sketchy time for electronic components, as far as switches and pots were concerned. Both my '02 150 Ultra and '08 137 had the lower quality Mexican made pots.
Buckyrock Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 My 2011 H-157CM-LW = switchcraft switch. My 2012 H157CM and 2013 H150CM-LW = crappy switch
Spectrum13 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Replaced the toggle after it crapped out on my 2006 150 with a switchcraft. I mailed 225 Parsons switchcraft top of the line toggles for all three custom builds. Factory stock is not always going to be state of the art parts. They buy bulk. Investing $18.50 for a toggle that lasts decades is cheaper that replacing lessor quality. Heritage does not upcharge (me) to install parts that are drop ship. I have sent... pots, caps, braided wire, toggles, input jacks, tuners, bridge posts, bridges, pickups and strap locks to 225.
58super Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Same thing with my H550, great guitar, good pots and caps (Cts and Mallory) and a crappy switch. I just changed the switch to a Switchcraft. Even the big G uses Switchcraft in their midline models but makes up for it with crappy caps and pots.
Kuz Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I have owned at least 14 Heritages of various years, never had a toggle switch fail. But I am sorry about your issue.
barrymclark Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Never had a problem so I never much cared....so I have no clue what my switch is. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
bolero Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I had a '93 toggle switch die, but it was obviously stepped on or crushed & broke because of that. maybe during shipping --->it's a good idea to remove toggle tips when shipping .luckily the gtr top was intact but it was a high quality USA switchcraft switch
