PunkKitty Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 After I had decided to abandon my search for a 150, Millennium Maestro made me an offer I couldn't refuse on this. I really like it. I plan to swap the pickups. I'm not thrilled with the bridge pickup. It's too hot for my tastes. I also have a set of TonePros hardware that I may eventually install. Outside of that, all is good.
Millennium Maestro Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Couldnt help myself... wanted to share another photo. Enjoy her, cant believe that horder let her go....
FredZepp Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Guy is good at picking up some sweet Heritages and that one is no exception. Looks great and is, no doubt , a great one to play also. You chose wisely... congrats.
tulk1 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 That is one rather understated top. Just looks so classy.
kidsmoke Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I know you told me this before, but what are the zebras that are in there now? If you're going polished, I'll trade you straight up a set of locking grovers for those Klusons.....

Kip... sending you a PM Those are pickups out of a PRS measuring in the 8.6k neck and 10.5k bridge apx. Lost the paper I wrote the measurements down on...
ScottNaylor Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Wonderful guitar! Congrats and may it bring many years of fine service.
HANGAR18 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Looks great! How do you like the weight of the guitar and feel of the neck?
PunkKitty Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 The neck is a very comfortable medium C. It weighs about 9 pounds.
HANGAR18 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 The neck is a very comfortable medium C. It weighs about 9 pounds. Wow, that sounds like its a pretty good match for your tastes. 9 lbs isn't bad for an H150; all that I have ever owned were heavier than that. Play it in good health!
tbonesullivan Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 What kind of pickups are you gonna put in? I think it's screaming "PEARLY GATES" to my eyes. As for hardware, if You can locate the schaller TOM and Stop tail, you may not need to replace any of the bushings. looks great!
bobmeyrick Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 What kind of pickups are you gonna put in? I think it's screaming "PEARLY GATES" to my eyes. As for hardware, if You can locate the schaller TOM and Stop tail, you may not need to replace any of the bushings. TonePros should fit without any problem if they're direct replacements for a Gibson "Nashville" set up. On my 150s (one is never enough...) I've replaced he Schaller hardware with both Gibson and TonePros. If I recall correctly the tailpiece is Imperial thread, while the bridge is metric (M5 I think). I'm sure H will correct me if I'm wrong! Come to think of it, didn't Schaller make the Nashville bridge for Gibson? As for pickups, In the 150 VSB I replaced the Seymour 59s with Bare Knuckle Stormy Mondays, in the 150 Trans Black I replaced the Schallers with Seymour Phat Cats, and the 150 Special has P-Rails replacing the Schallers. That pretty much covers all eventualities...
PunkKitty Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 I'm deciding on pickups. I have a few sets of Gibson Burstbuckers. I have a couple of 57 Classic +. I also have a new set of Seths. But I'm leaning toward putting the Fralin P92's that I have on the shelf back into my Prospect and moving the set of Porter Classics into the 150. Another option is to replace the magnets in a set of BB/57+ with alnico 4.
Millennium Maestro Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I am glad this is an adventure for you! A nice unpotted pickup(Seth) would get all the tone out of that slab.
